Ariel Lopez

Unidanza The Afro-Cuban Dance Festival in Hamburg

We are delighted to announce Ariel Lopez as an instructor in UNiDANZA 2026!

Ariel is a passionate expert in Casino and is widely known for his incredible ability to break down complex movements into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Based in Augsburg, he brings years of experience and a deep understanding of Cuban dance and music culture to his classes. Not only is Ariel a fantastic dancer, but his exceptional teaching skills make him an outstanding instructor as well. His didactic approach ensures that every student—whether beginner or advanced—can improve their skills and deepen their understanding of Casino.

Ariel has been immersed in Cuban dance and music culture for over 15 years. His dance journey began in 2005 at Emilito Herrera’s Cuban Salsa Power dance school, where he started as a dance instructor. In 2009, he toured Germany with the Cuban Salsa Power Rueda de Casino group, which won several German championships (in 2007, 2009, and 2011).

Ariel has also contributed to the dance community as a host at many festivals and has been part of the organizational team, including for the launch of the first European festival, Cubamemucho.

As a guest lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg, Ariel has been invited to give workshops on “Dance as a Language” in Spanish, further showcasing his expertise.

Ariel pays attention to musical know-how, lots of practical exercises and individual corrections. With humor and a certain strictness, he has already taught many “left feet” to dance. We can’t wait for him to share his knowledge and passion for casino with us at UNiDANZA 2026!
