We are thrilled to have Emilia Pedra as part of UNiDANZA 2025!

Emilia, also from Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, has been surrounded by dance her entire life. Starting at the age of 5, she trained in ballet, hip hop, modern dance, and contemporary dance. At the age of 12, she started dancing in partner styles, such as salsa, and later pursued a degree in sports pedagogy with a specialization in biomechanics.

In 2012, Emilia began her journey as a teacher of Cuban dance, collaborating with Alexei Ramos to create a teaching methodology focused on musical awareness, body movement, and a deep respect for the cultural significance of Cuban dance. Their fresh and innovative approach emphasizes breaking patterns and encourages students to explore different possibilities in Cuban rhythm and dance.

Emilia’s passion, patience, and outstanding teaching skills have made her a highly respected instructor, and we’re excited for her to share her knowledge with us at UNiDANZA 2025!
