The heart of our festival is the music! We are excited to introduce Marcos Antonio Ramírez Betancourt, one of our musicians, who will be performing live during the workshops

Born in Santiago de Cuba, Marcos started his musical journey at the age of 8 with the cello. At 18, he studied percussion at the “Lauro Fuentes” school in Santiago, performing with renowned groups like “Sara Anda,” “Tierra Caliente,” and “Ballet Folklorico Cutumba.” Since moving to the Netherlands in 2000, Marcos has built an impressive 20+ year career, collaborating with celebrated artists such as Mayito Rivera and Haila María Monpié.

Marcos combines passion and technical skill with a charismatic and energetic presence. His performances will transport you directly to the lively, rhytmic streets of Cuba.
