Luis, originally from Portugal, discovered Cuban dances at the age of 17. His passion for dance quickly transformed him from a talented student into an exceptional instructor and choreographer. Along the way, he explored various dance styles such as ballet, capoeira, and breakdance, all of which have shaped his unique, personal style today.

In recent years, Luis’ career has skyrocketed, taking him across Europe to numerous festivals where he shares his knowledge and passion for Cuban dance. When he’s not traveling, he is based in Hamburg, Germany, where he runs his own dance school, A bailar, dedicated to spreading the beauty of Cuban dance, music, and culture.

Luis is the epitome of great didactics and an endless well of knowledge when it comes to Cuban dance and music. Ask him anything, and he’ll give you a detailed, passionate lecture on the subject! On top of that, he’s incredibly friendly, an absolute powerhouse on the dance floor, and takes the time to truly connect with his students.
