We’re happy to welcome Oliwia Szewczak back to UNiDANZA for the second time!
Powerful. Creative. Fun. Oliwia’s dance style is unique – no matter which role she dances! Her extensive knowledge and engaging teaching style perfectly embody what UNiDANZA stands for: a deep love for Cuban dances.
Oliwia began her dance journey in 1993, starting with rhythmic gymnastics and ballet, before pursuing professional dance training at the National Ballet School in Warsaw. Over the years, she has developed her expertise in a variety of styles, including contemporary, jazz, modern dance, and foundational hip-hop. In addition to dance, Oliwia also engaged in semi-professional cycling and basketball during her early years.
In 2008, Oliwia discovered Cuban dance and it quickly became her main passion. Since then, it has been the driving force of her artistic expression. In 2012, she founded her dance studio, Oye, in Warsaw, where she began teaching in 2009. Transitioning to freelance teaching in 2020, Oliwia now conducts workshops both in Poland and internationally.
As an instructor, Oliwia brings an analytical approach to teaching Cuban dance, with a focus on the fundamentals of casino, son, timba, and rumba. She emphasizes technique, leading and following dynamics, geometry, body movement, musicality, and more. Oliwia believes in continuous development and always participates actively in classes to keep her energy and motivation alive.
We’re thrilled to have Oliwia return to UNiDANZA 2025, where her passion, creativity, and expertise will once again shine through!
