Yipsi Rodriguez

Unidanza The Afro-Cuban Dance Festival in Hamburg

Wir freuen uns sehr, Yipsi Rodriguez bei UNiDANZA 2025 begrüßen zu dürfen!

A dancer since childhood, Yipsi began her journey in amateur troupes in Santiago de Cuba before joining the prestigious Folkloric Ballet de Oriente in 2000. By 2001, she had earned her first level of professional dancer. Thanks to her exceptional talent and hard work, Yipsi quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a highly respected dancer and teacher. In 2005, she achieved the highest level of professional dancer awarded by the National Commission of Havana.

Over the years, Yipsi’s career flourished, and she became First Dancer and First Teacher at the Folkloric Ballet de Oriente, where she honed her skills and built an impressive reputation. In 2011, she joined the Folkloric group La Ceiba as a Teacher and Choreographer, continuing her dual role as First Dancer and First Teacher at the Ballet.

Yipsi’s dedication took her beyond Cuba: in 2012, she was selected for a two-year mission in Venezuela, where she worked as a teacher and dancer in various cultural and political events. Upon completing her mission in 2014, she also contributed to the Escuela Vocacional de Arte (EVA), training the next generation of Cuban artists. Later, her talents were recognized internationally, and she was chosen to travel to France as a teacher of Afro-Cuban and popular dances, promoting cultural exchange between Cuba and France.

We’re thrilled to have Yipsi share her vast experience and incredible talent with us at UNiDANZA 2025!
